3 best movies of Elizabeth Olsen
1) Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011)
A rather underrated movie, Martha Marcy May Marlene, may as well be the best Elizabeth Olsen has performed on screen. This is even more surprising considering the fact that this was also her first major role.
But taking on the character of Martha, a woman who escaped the clutches of a cult to try and adjust to normal life, Olsen showed the extent of her acting prowess, and to great effect.
As Martha, Elizabeth delivered such a memorable performance that the festival circuit lit up when it first premiered. The movie was also praised heavily by critics and fans alike. It still holds a staggering 90% approval on Rotten Tomatoes.
For any fan who doubts Olsen’s acting capabilities, this is the movie to watch.
2) Ingrid Goes West (2017)
Following the fame from Avengers: Age of Ultron, and its successors, Elizabeth Olsen delivered one of her most offbeat performances in Ingrid Goes West. The movie, which saw the actress in a completely different role as opposed to her Wanda Maximoff in Marvel, followed a social media influencer and her obsessive followers.
Olsen played the Instagram model, while the very talented Aubrey Plaza played the titular Ingrid, a woman obsessed with the life of an influencer. The film not only dished out some very real and concerning facts about our society, but it also saw Olsen embody a character almost as perfectly as one could.
Ingrid Goes West is also an underrated movie that deserves a viewing.
3) Avengers: Infinity War
It is impossible to list Elizabeth Olsen’s movies without adding at least one of her Marvel appearances. Avengers: Infinity War gets our vote for Elizabeth’s gut-wrenching performance during the final fight sequence, where Thanos (Josh Brolin) manages to murder Vision (Paul Bettany) and takes his infinity stone.
Of course, the actress has always portrayed this character with a charm that has made it stand out, and that has been seen in many of the Marvel films, most notably Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, which also saw great range from the actress.
But there is still something about the unassuming Scarlett Witch in Avengers: Infinity War that feels better and more convincing. It is definitely the role for which the 35-year-old actress would be remembered.
